CLOUD NEWS
- Datadog Files Registration Statement for Proposed Initial Public Offering - They say every dog has its day, and that day is soon for Datadog, the favourite monitoring and analytics platform, who are making moves to join the global market as DDOG.
- How the Air Force used a bug bounty program to hack its own cloud server - If anyone would have the nerve to hack their own servers it would be the Air Force, which proved to be a pro move when their hired hackers uncovered 54 vulnerabilities in their server.
- O’Reilly Velocity Conference in Berlin this November - Think you’re a whiz? Go cloud-native with the rest of the geniuses at this 4-day deep dive into all things DevOps, serverless, Kubernetes, and more from November 4-7.
- Announcing improved VPC networking for AWS Lambda functions - Worried about those creeping rumours that AWS Lambda is slow to start? Worry less!
- Goldman Sachs hires former Amazon executive for top technology role - Goldman Sachs is banking on the cloud with its latest hire, Marco Argenti, coming off 6 years as the VP of Technology at AWS.
- 2019 Accelerate State of DevOps Report - DORA has released their annual State of DevOps report, and as it turns out, the age-old adage It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it’s seems to hold water here. For the 2nd year in a row, DORA found that successful migrations in organizations were due to the way teams had implemented their cloud services, not just the fact they were using the cloud. No point having a magic wand if you don’t know how to use it!
That’s all for September 2019. If you’ve enjoyed reading this, please consider forwarding it and follow us on social media (links below) to stay up to date.
